Writer: Azeema SAzeema S

Lemon juice is an excellent source of Vitamin C. Lemons are most easily available citrus fruit in summer. They have many nourishing elements that help our body remain fresh and hydrated throughout the season. Mixing lemon juice with water can do wonders for your body, especially during the hot weather. A simple glass of lemon water is all you need this summer as we go galloping around the town.

Summers are here and it's time to fight the scorching heat by staying fit and hydrated. It sounds easy, but this is one season when taking care of health turns out to be the most important thing as the body is prone to various seasonal ailments like food poisoning, heat stroke, dehydration and diarrhea.

Especially after returning from work/school, I see my kids running near the refrigerator for cold water. So why not make this simple and hydrated drink to serve our loved ones.

Ingredients

  • 1 lemon medium size

  • 400ml water

  • 2 tsp sugar

  • 1 pinch salt

  • 3 ice cubes

  • Mint leaves (optional)

Method

  1. Squeeze the lemon juice in a jar, add water, sugar and salt and mix well.

  2. Add ice cubes and mint leaves for flavor and serve.

Note: lemon water may erode tooth enamel. To lower the risk, drink it through a straw and rinse your mouth with plain water afterwards.

Have a fun filled summer time with loved ones!

Until then, signing off!

Stay Healthy! Stay Safe!
