Tandoori Chicken Tikka

Chicken Tandoori Tikka is undoubtedly the king starter in Indian cuisine. This dish originated in the Indian subcontinent and is popular in many parts of the world.

It is one of the crowd puller dishes. Loved by people of all ages. Full of good nutrients and tender meat makes a healthy diet. It is quite simple and easy to make.

The raw chicken is marinated with yogurt and spices, which makes the chicken juicy and delicious adding to it the smoky flavor that makes it scrumptious . It is served along with Mint raita(curd), Salad, Lemon wedges and bread.

It is mesmerizing to cook this in my kitchen. Hope you too love do as well.


Ingredients

  • 500 gm Chicken Cubes (boneless)

  • 4 tbsp Yogurt/Curd

  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice

  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste

  • 1 tsp red Chili

  • Salt to taste

  • 2 tbsp Tandoori Masala

  • 3 pinch Red Food Coloring

  • 4 tbsp Butter/oil for brushing


Method

Marination

  1. Take a bowl and add yogurt, lemon juice, ginger garlic paste, tandoori masala and red food coloring. Mix well and make a paste.

  2. Add chicken and rub the masala paste over it. Set aside in refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Preparation

  1. Soak the skewers in water for half an hour.

  2. Then thread the chicken into the skewers and rest it for 10 minutes. This will remove the excess marinate.

  3. Meanwhile, preheat the tandoor pan for 10 minutes. Place the threaded chicken and cook for 15 minutes on both sides.

  4. Once the chicken turns to golden red it's ready to be served.
